Thomas Pak

Vice President

My name is Thomas Pak, a MD/PhD student in the Neuroscience Program at the University of Iowa. I grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa, where I had a variety of interests from gymnastics, to student government, to science fairs. I went to Baltimore for college, where I focused my interest in medicine and research. During medical school, I learned the difference students can make at an institution and political level from my involvement in the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine Student Government, Iowa Medical Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, and American Medical Association. We have a diverse and accomplished student population at the UI’s graduate and professional school. As vice-president, I have three main priorities: (1) improve inter-professional relationships among the university’s six graduate/professional colleges (2) increase advocacy and representation for graduate and professional students at an institution and governmental level and (3) support initiatives that improve the general well-being of graduate and professional students.
