This event, offered online via Teams, will feature several short talks (3-5 minutes) about how faculty, students and staff at the University of Iowa are using artificial intelligence.
The talks serve as a platform for learning and innovation as artificial intelligence rapidly transforms the technological landscape.
The lineup for this month is:
Allison Levine, assistant professor of counselor education, on AI and virtual reality in counselor and clinic training
Matt Hodges, data literacy project manager, Office of Assessment, on Synthesia AI-generated videos on data literacy promotion
Sean Kelley, team lead for media production department, College of Dentistry, on using ElevenLabs for audio processing in media production
Andy Vu, doctoral student, Education Measurement and Statistics, on creating Copilot agents for personal utilization
Justin Hess, senior systems administrator, College of Pharmacy / UI Pharmaceuticals, on leveraging AI dashboards for contract cost analysis
The goals are to:
Share knowledge and insights about the latest AI trends, tools, best practices, and practical uses of AI.
Encourage collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas across campus.
Inspire innovative applications of AI.
