A beautiful friendship of two spoken word masters made even better by each other.

Their origin story is a tale of unbelievable coincidences and unshakeable camaraderie—and they tell that story with their trademark trading of lines. Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye are two exceptional spoken word artists whose collaboration is greater than the sum of its parts. Key members of Project VOICE, they share their work and process with students, teachers, and the community as they seek to uplift and celebrate everyone’s voice.

“Kay and Kaye are not related or married: their last names happen to be homophones. They’ve been friends since 2006, when they met during a freshman talent show at Brown. … As poets, they complement each other: their writing is disarmingly earnest, but Kay’s delivery is breathy and awestruck, whereas Kaye works the crowd like a standup comedian.” – The New Yorker
