The DeLTA Center Roundtable Discussion is an event that expands the interdisciplinary research community by promoting reciprocal interactions between basic and applied researchers. These events showcase presenters from a wide variety of academic disciplines and an open discussion about implications of the presenter's ideas across fields of study and research.

This roundtable event features Dr. Gahyun Callie Sung. Callie is an Assistant Professor of Learning Sciences and Educational Psychology at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Sung’s research agenda is at the intersection of the learning sciences, AI, and mental health, particularly in STEM higher education. Much of her research has focused on how student emotions and well-being, as well as their impact on learning, can be measured and supported with a purposeful use of student data. In her work, she utilizes multiple sources of data from physical classrooms, and has methodological interests and publications on building open research platforms for sensor-based research in educational settings.
