Dr. Schieltz is an Assistant Professor and Dr. O’Brien is a Clinical Associate Professor in the UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics in the Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Schieltz is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 15 years of experience evaluating and treating severe and challenging behavior displayed by children with and without developmental disabilities. Her research is focused on training parents and school professions on behavior analytic procedures in-vivo and via telehealth.

Dr. O’Brien has a specialty in assessing and treating individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and has directed clinics focused on this for more than 10 years. He served as a co-PI on an NIH-funded R01 grant studying behavioral assessment and treatment of challenging behavior in young children with autism.
