Held each year on Nov. 8, the National First-Generation College Celebration encourages colleges and universities across the country to celebrate the successes of the institution's first-generation students. At the University of Iowa, one day isn't enough — we celebrate all week long! This year's celebration week is Nov. 3–8 (most events will occur Nov. 3–7). Participation in the university's celebration is campus-wide! Colleges, departments, and student organizations from across campus are invited to join in the festivities by hosting an event. In the past, more than 20 events and special activities have been held throughout the week to mark this special occasion.
