University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us for the annual 1stGen@Iowa Awards and Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, March 5, in the R. Wayne Richey Ballroom in the IMU. The event will begin with a reception at 3 p.m., followed by a ceremony from 3:30 to 5 p.m., where we will present the 2025–26 1stGen at Iowa Awards (this year’s award recipients will be announced in mid-February and names will be posted on our website).
This ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of first-generation students and recognize faculty and staff who have provided outstanding advocacy and support for first-gen students. This year's keynote address will be given by Anna Jensen, assistant professor of instruction and director of the Office of Field Experience in the Department of Health, Sport, and Human Physiology.
