When donating, remember to:

· Provide a photo ID

· Drink plenty of fluids and have a good meal before you donate

· Be free of cold or flu symptoms for five days

· Bring a list of the medications you take

· Bring a list of the places and dates you have traveled outside the U.S. within the last three years

Whole blood donations take about 45 to 60 minutes.

All blood collected will be used to support patients at UI Health Care and Stead Family Children's Hospital.
