Talia Hatkevich, a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Cell Biology at Duke University School of Medicine, will be giving a seminar on Thursday, March 26, at 4:00pm in Kollros Auditorium (Room 101), Biology Building East (BBE). John Manak, Professor of Biology, is the faculty host.

Summary: As the body's sex cells, germ cells are responsible for passing genetic and epigenetic information to the next generation, indefinitely. Here I discuss how the RNA-binding protein DND1 helps germ cells preserve that genetic and epigenetic information during development, thereby maintaining informational integrity in these immortal sex cells.
