Have you heard? The Museum of Natural History's Art & Write Night is moving to the Old Capitol Museum for a special edition this June!

Join us for the 2026 Iowa City Downtown District's Summer Gallery Walk on Friday, June 5 from 5:00–8:00 p.m. Pick up a Gallery Walk stamp card at any participating location and collect stamps throughout the evening for a chance to win prizes.

Visitors after a stamp from us are invited to explore Thrift Style, a new exhibit celebrating fashion, creativity, and personal expression through historic and reimagined clothing.

Guests can also participate in a special edition of Art & Write Night, relocated from the Museum of Natural History for the evening. Sketch the historic architecture of Old Cap or create your own custom tote bag using fabric paint, stamps, and printmaking techniques inspired by Thrift Style. Visitors are also welcome to bring clothing items from home to customize.

Note: Art & Write Night will return to the Museum of Natural History in August (no July occurrence).
