Witness: At the Literary/Visual Junction

Witness: At the Literary/Visual Junction promotional image

What happens when words become images and images become stories? What new possibilities emerge when artists move between looking, reading, and writing?

Join us at the Stanley Museum of Art for a series of brief, rapid-fire presentations from an international panel of visual artists, writers, and educators exploring how literary and visual art intersect, inform, and transform one another. Presented in collaboration with the International Writing Program (IWP), the program concludes with a Q&A and reception.

Witness extends the Stanley’s role as a creative meeting place, and reflects the museum’s role as a premier hub for inquiry at intersection of the literary and visual arts.
