The Center for Teaching's New TA Orientation will be held in person from 1-3:30 pm on Wednesday, August 19.

New TA Orientation introduces participants to the role of teaching assistant at the University of Iowa. This event is for any TA interested in developing practical teaching skills and increasing their knowledge of pedagogy. New TA Orientation is especially beneficial to anyone who will be a TA at Iowa for the first time during the 2026-2027 academic year.

A limited amount of workshops will also be offered online for those who cannot attend in person. Registrants will receive an email with the workshop locations and times, as well as a Zoom link upon registration and on the day before the event via email.

Register by 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Participants will also be automatically enrolled in an ICON webpage with additional teaching resources and asynchronous workshops, including an ICON tutorial.
