ISE:5000 GRADUATE SEMINAR -- TZE NING HIEW

ISE:5000 GRADUATE SEMINAR -- TZE NING HIEW promotional image

Join us in welcoming Tze Ning Hiew, an assistant Professor at at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Graduate Seminar.

Dr. Hiew will present her seminar titled "Process-Structure-Property Relationships in Co-Precipitated Amorphous Solid Dispersions: A Hierarchical Particle Approach". This talk presents a hierarchical particle approach that deposits a secondary polymer onto particle surfaces during a high-shear co-precipitation process. By mapping process variables (secondary excipient choice and anti-solvent) against surface composition, wettability, and drug release performance, the study demonstrates that surface wettability, rather than surface composition or bulk drug loading, is the strongest predictor of drug release, pointing to a general process-structure-property framework for amorphous particle manufacturing.
