After months of negotiation and collaboration, the University of Iowa administration and Labor Center staff announced a n agreement has been reached to keep the Labor Center open under a new, sustainable funding model. GPSG strongly endorses this solution, which will allow the Labor Center to continue to provide valuable services to Iowans while not using student tuition or GEF dollar s. GPSG especially recognizes the tireless effort s of Labor Center Director Jennifer Sherer and University of Iowa College of Law Dean Kevin Washburn in reaching this agreement. The agreement marks a new path forward for the Labor Center and the Universit y of Iowa to best serve Iowans and embrace their joint missions of excellence in teaching and service. GPSG encourages the Board of Regents, State of Iowa to approve this agreement, and reconsider its previous vote to close the Labor Center.
