Eric Field

GPAC Director
Biography

Hi, this is Eric Field. Although I am a Chicago native, I have been glad to call Muscatine, Iowa, my home for the past ten years. After 13 years of teaching middle and high school, I am currently in the College of Education as a 3rd year PhD student in the Psychological and Quantitative Foundations Department. My program of study is school psychology, and our program is working on rechartering with American Psychological Association accreditation. I am a student leader representing our program with the National Association of School Psychologists, and I currently work at the Belin-Blank Center on campus as a research/teaching assistant and an Assessment and Counseling Center practicum student.

Prior to attending University of Iowa, I received my B.A. in Drama and English from Washington University in St. Louis, a graduate certificate in Communication Studies from Minnesota State University, and two M.Eds. from DePaul University and Valparaiso University. My goals within GPSG are to encourage more graduate student groups to apply for GPAC funds, especially with the campus re-opening. I also want to work with the Student Organization Review Committee and the graduate student governments to provide a seamless process for established graduate student organizations to update organization registration. When I am not at home being bossed around my wife and two daughters, I am lifting weights in the gym and singing karaoke.
