Biography

My name is Rachel Valentine (she/her/hers), and I am a Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision. Currently, I am serving as the GPSG Delegate for Social and Education Sciences. I am passionate about connecting with others, providing mental health support and advocacy, traveling, spending time with loved ones, and cooking. I graduated from The University of Iowa in 2019 with my undergraduate degree in English/Creative Writing and Communication Studies. I also received my master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management from The University of Iowa in 2020. In 2021, I decided to refocus my professional goals toward mental health and wellness, so I received my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wichita State University, where I also worked as a career coach. Currently, I am a therapist (t-LMHC) at a private practice in downtown Iowa City, and I work with neurodivergent individuals, athletes, college students, and more on their individual and professional goals. I am looking forward to connecting with more students and providing support where I can!
