Geneva Guadalupe
Geneva is a third-year law student (3L) at the University of Iowa College of Law who is honored to serve as 2022-2023 Government Relations Director of the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG). Geneva was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Prior to attending Iowa Law, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from Grinnell College and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. As Government Relations Director of GPSG, Geneva looks forward to advocating for graduate and professional students on a local, state, and federal level. She hopes to continue to advocate and promote the goals and objectives of her predecessor. During Geneva’s term as Government Relations Director, she wants to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion of all graduate and professional students and hopes to increase accessibility and accommodation support for students. In addition, she also plans to advocate for increased appropriations at Iowa, so that graduate and professional students have the resources, support, and guidance they need to pursue integral opportunities and experiences at Iowa. Geneva also plans to support the additional concerns and initiatives that graduate and professional students, delegates, and executives bring to her attention in the academic school year.
In addition to her involvement on GPSG, Geneva serves as President for the Iowa Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Regional Secretary for the Midwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association (MWBLSA), Note and Comment Editor for Vol. 48 of the Journal of Corporation Law (JCL), and a Student Ambassador for Iowa Law Admissions. Geneva also loves traveling across the country and world and in her free time, loves talking about her favorite reality television shows and scripted TV shows on a variety of podcast networks including Rob Has a Podcast (RHAP), Post Show Recaps (PSR), and Silent Podcasts.
