Kshitija Kale
Graduate Student Senate (Biological and Medical Sciences)
Biography
I am a PhD candidate in Experimental Pathology at the University of Iowa, where my research focuses on immune mechanisms in Multiple Sclerosis. My long-term goal is to pursue a physician-scientist career in clinical pathology and transfusion medicine.
Beyond the lab, I am passionate about student leadership and advocacy. I serve on the Executive Board of the University of Iowa Graduate Student Senate (GSS), where I work closely with the Academic Dean to share accurate resources with students and manage social media platforms to enhance communication, transparency, and engagement. This role has strengthened my leadership, organizational, and communication skills while helping build a more connected and informed graduate student community.
Outside of my academic and leadership roles, I enjoy writing, both scientific and creative, and believe in the power of storytelling to make science more engaging and accessible.
