Biography

McKenna Raimer (she/her) is a dual-degree JD/Master of Health Administration student. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in criminology, law and justice and religious studies from the University of Iowa in 2020. She has previously served as president of Type1Hawks, a chapter of the Diabetes Link, and interim president of UI Students for Disability Advocacy & Awareness. She currently serves as president of the Iowa Student Association of Healthcare Leaders (ISAHL), located within the Department of Health Management and Policy in the College of Public Health. Although still narrowing her career interests, McKenna is passionate about healthcare cost-control measures, equitable access, and disability advocacy. 

As Director of Physical Health and Safety, McKenna’s goal is to serve the graduate and professional student body through intentional communication and advocacy, collaboration with campus resources and organizations, and implementation of evidence-based strategies and solutions to promote physical health and safety at the University of Iowa. A safe and healthy environment is fundamental to fostering an optimal learning experience!
