Phillip Dixon

Graduate Student Senate (Physical Sciences, Math, & Engineering)

My name is Phillip and I will be serving as a delegate for Physical Sciences, Math, and Engineering. I am from Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. I received an A.S. in Engineering from Bristol Community College, B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, M.Eng in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, M.Makeup from the Cinema Makeup School, and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida. I am currently in my first year as a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Engineering and Science Program in the Civil and Environmental Department at the University of Iowa. My research focus is on phytoremediation and microbial degradation to treat environmental pollution. I am deeply committed to civil and environmental engineering teaching, research, and learning. I am a licensed professional civil and environmental engineering in the states of New York and California. In my free time, I enjoy running marathons, cooking, photography, and talking with family and friends.
