Rachel Valentine
My name is Rachel Valentine (she/her/hers). As a practicing therapist and Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision, I am committed to advancing graduate and professional student wellness. I recognize that graduate student life is often shaped by systemic and structural challenges that can impact sustainability, well-being, and sense of belonging. In my role as Mental Health Director, I am dedicated to advocating for students at the local, state, and federal levels while expanding access to wellness resources and programming across campus. My work centers on addressing key challenges faced by graduate and professional students, including isolation, financial stress, and academic pressure.
I am currently leading efforts to design spaces where graduate and professional students can build meaningful connections, engage in dialogue, share feedback, and exchange resources across programs. I value student input and aim to actively engage with graduate and professional student communities to better understand and respond to their needs. I look forward to building lasting connections and continuing this work throughout my time in this role, collaborating with students to strengthen community and promote well-being across campus. Please feel free to reach out! I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
