My name is Raghav Sharma, and I will be serving as the 2023-2024 International Affairs Director for the Graduate and Professional Student Government. I graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a BSc(Hons) in Computing in 2017 and from Southeast Missouri State University with a Master in Applied Computer Science in 2020. Currently, I am doing a Master of Business Analytics and I am graduating in May 2024. My areas of research interest include Artificial intelligence, Data Science. After graduating from Southeast I worked for a couple of years as an IT Project manager and in Operations I interned for Centene as a Business System Analyst in the Summer of 2023, I look forward to graduating in May 2024 to start a career as a Business Analyst.

As an International Student, I love being engaged in issues international students are facing and I look forward to becoming the voice of international students as a director of the International Affairs committee. After serving for almost a full academic calendar as a member of the GPSG International Affairs Committee, I have been ever-present in trying to push for resolutions to problems and challenges faced by international students and helped organize various programs. I am someone who likes to take initiative and I really want to take on this leadership role to continue the great work that has been put forward by the committee this year, I look forward to continuing the agendas outlined by the committee and continuing to work on issues and challenges international students face. Outside of GPSG, I am involved in various other organizations on Campus. I served as a vice president for INFORMS UIowa Chapter and I am a member of Tippie Tech.
Outside of Academics and engagement on Campus, I like playing, watching soccer, and playing music. I am a lifelong Arsenal supporter. I also love making new friends, sharing, and experiencing a new culture. I am also someone who loves to have deep meaningful philosophical conversations.
