Hello! My name’s John, I’m a second-year in the Master’s of Public Health Program, and I hold a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Iowa. I was born in Ohio, grew up in Michigan, and have lived in Iowa for over three years (The Midwest Circuit!) I serve as President of The College of Public Health Graduate Student Association (CPHGSA), acting as a representative and advocate for all graduate students within the College. Outside of that role, I am a member of the Lecture Committee which brings in speakers like Anita Hill and Bill Nye! I also run a small business called OctavEd in the Iowa City Community teaching music lessons. Post-graduation, I plan on moving to the Big Island of Hawai’i, where I hope to work on addressing rural health issues (as well as some surfing and hiking, while I’m there 😉).
