Riley Post

Vice President
Biography

My name is Riley Post and I am a third-year Graduate Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering within the Iowa Flood Center. I first graduated from the University of Iowa in 2010 and 2011 with a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Water Resources Engineering, respectively. Between completing my M.S. and starting my Ph.D. in 2020, I worked as a Hydraulic Engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District.

Prior to starting as Vice President of GPSG, I served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Engineering Graduates of the Last Decade (eGOLD), Executive Associate of the Graduate Student Senate (GSS), Vice President of the Students of IIHR (SIIHR), and on the Board of Directors of the Rock Island Post of the Society of American Military Engineers. In the role of VP I intend to act as a strong voice of graduate and professional students across campus to university administrators, elected officials, and members of our community. My role is to work tirelessly to support a robust and inclusive community of graduate and professional students here at the University of Iowa. Never hesitate to reach out if I can be of service.

Outside of academics, I like traveling, home improvement projects, am an avid fan of the Hawkeyes and Tottenham Hotspur, and love spending time with my wife, Erin, and dog, Waldo.
