I’m Sydney Wagner and I’m a second-year law student serving as the Director of Governmental Relations for GPSG.

I’m originally from Iowa and have spent pretty much my whole life here. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2021 from the University of Northern Iowa in Political Science with minors in Criminology and Advanced Leadership Techniques. At UNI, I served as the Director of Governmental Relations for the Northern Iowa Student Government, an undergraduate body very similar to the USG here at Iowa. Last year, I served on the Governmental Relations committee. Between my time as the Director of Governmental Relations at UNI and my time on the GPSG GR Committee, I have been able to build up skills and connections that I hope to use to advocate for students and address student concerns. My goals for this year are to amplify the voices of graduate and professional students at all levels, both administrative and governmental.
