Joint Statement from Student Leaders on the Iowa Legislature’s Decision to Cut Funding for Higher Education:  The Iowa Legislature’s decision to cut $8 million in important funding for higher education at a time when students and their families are struggling with a once-in-a-generation economic crisis is short-sighted and deeply disappointing.

Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) is deeply saddened by the events which transpired on the evening of Wednesday, June 3, 2020. It is outrageous, disturbing, and entirely unacceptable that tear gas and flash-bang devices were used in disproportionate force against Iowans and University of Iowa students.
