Run for a position in the upcoming UI Graduate and Professional Student Government elections on Tuesday April 5th!! All nominations must be submitted via Qualtrics BY 7PM on TUESDAY MARCH 29th.

The University of Iowa Student Government and Graduate and Professional Student Government are concerned about the events unfolding on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.

Recent comments by UI students on several social media platforms targeted at international Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander students have once again highlighted the urgent need for the campus community to come together to support every campus constituency and to help all feel welcome, valued, and safe on campus, no matter the perceived background or difference....

Hawkeyes intervene in uncomfortable or potentially violent situations.   We all can do something to prevent sexual assault.   Direct.   Approach the situation.   Distract.   Create a distraction.   Delegate.   Ask others for assistance to intervene.   It’s on us to step in and speak up.

Apply by September 25th for ISAB! If you are a driven student, passionate about ensuring an inclusive student body we encourage you to apply for a position on the newly created International Student Advisory Board (ISAB).

Hawkeyes recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.   Consent is freely and affirmatively given.   If someone doesn’t or can’t consent to sex, it’s rape.    It’s on us to obtain consent and look out for someone who cannot consent.

We are currently looking for graduate and doctoral students who are interested in civic engagement in their studies to apply to be fellows for this year’s Obermann Graduate Institute.   To learn more about the Graduate Institute, there will be an informational session this Thursday, Sept.

Graduate and professional students are invited to attend an interactive bystander intervention workshop focused on the relationship between alcohol and sexual violence.   Participants will learn how to recognize problematic behaviors and interrupt as bystanders.   Pizza will be served .
